2010 Membership Information

Kenmont Swim and Tennis Club will begin accepting membership applications for the 2010 season on March 1, 2010.

At this time, the club is close to a full membership. Early application is encouraged, with new applications considered on a first-come, first-served basis, and accepted only when verified as accurate and paid-in-full.

Applying for Membership

Please complete and sign the appropriate application (see below), and then mail it with your Initiation Fee and Annual Dues to Kenmont Swim & Tennis Club, P.O. Box 32, Kensington, MD 20895.

Questions? Please call 301-933-0047 and leave a voice mail message. A member of the Membership Committee checks for messages once-a-week and will return your call soon.

2010 Initiation Fees

Which one do I choose? If you plan to stay at Kenmont for 3 or more years, a Class A Lifetime Membership is your best option. The Three Annual Payments option is good if you wish to spread the cost of the Initiation Fee. A Class C Membership is your best option if you plan to stay at Kenmont for only 1 or 2 years.

Class A Lifetime Membership One-time payment of $400 for lifetime access to Kenmont, plus Annual Dues. Fully paid, active Class A members have voting privileges in the Association (see By-Laws).
Class A Lifetime Membership
(3 Year Installment Plan)
Three annual payments of $145 ($435 total) for lifetime access to Kenmont, plus Annual Dues. Fully paid, active Class A members have voting priveleges in the Association.
Class C One Year Membership One payment of $125 for one year access to Kenmont, plus Annual Dues. C Members must pay an initiation fee each year, plus Annual Dues, to use Kenmont and have no voting priviliges in the Association.

2010 Annual Dues

How do I determine my Annual Dues? First, count the number of people in your family. Then, subtract any children under 3 years old (as of January 1, 2010), who are free from paying dues. Use the following table to establish your base dues.

Family size 1 2 3 4+
Cost $320 $410 $455 $500

Next, for any adults 65 years or older (as of January 1, 2010), subtract $25. Then, for any family with more than two adults 21 years or older (as of January 1, 2010), add an extra $25 per adult beyond two. See the application for details. Any Class A renewal application received after April 8, 2010 will be assessed a $25 late fee.

Who is a family member?A family member is considered a person living in the same household and at the same address, and legally related to the primary member. Kenmont reserves the right to request proof of relationship in order to determine that any family member listed is eligible for membership as part of this family. Kenmont does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, religion, age, sex or handicap.

Wish to keep your Class A membership active for the 2010 season as an “inactive” member? Your inactive dues are $50.

Transfering Your Membership

If you are an active, paid-in-full Class A member, you may transfer your membership share to a new member for a transfer fee of $50 payable to Kenmont. The new member may then renew the membership by paying the Annual Dues. At this time, the Association is not purchasing memberships from current members. Please call 301-933-0047 with questions.
