Pickleball

The Kenmont Swim & Tennis Club is home to four fully-lighted blue top pickleball courts (shared with the 2 tennis courts). They are well-shaded in the afternoons and early evenings.

Tennis, Pickleball, & Basketball Court Update - April 2026

We are pleased to share that court repairs are actively underway with our contractor, Mid Atlantic Asphalt. The project includes crack repair, resurfacing, and fresh line painting across the tennis and basketball courts.

As with any asphalt work, completion is weather-dependent — specifically, we need sustained nightly temperatures above 60°F and stable ground conditions to ensure the repairs cure properly and hold up for the season.

We are monitoring conditions closely and are targeting completion before Memorial Day Weekend.

We appreciate your patience as we work to get the courts in top shape for the 2026 season. We will post updates here as the project progresses.

Questions? Contact us at board@kenmont.com.

Summer Access Outside Regular Club Hours

The courts are open from 8am - 9pm 7 days a week during the summer for pickleball (tennis has access from 7am - 10pm because it is quieter). To access the courts during these hours please contact the board at board@kenmont.com with the email address you'd like to use for your invitation. We'll get you set up with an app to use on your phone to enter and exit the club. If the club is closed you must exit by 10:30pm. After 10:30, the app does not allow you to unlock the gate to exit. Outside of regular club hours you must stick to the courts only, no access to the pool deck, playground or main clubhouse.

Pickup Pickleball Summer Schedule

Come on out to play pickleball this summer during our Pickup Open Play hours! We've got 2 courts reserved Thursdays from 7-9pm and Sundays from 9-11:30am. All levels are welcome.  Use the TeamReach app (see below) to sign up to let people know if you'll be there.

Pickleball Nets

There are 4 portable pickleball nets available. They are easy to set up lightweight nets. They are stored in the tennis and pickleball closet at the back of the clubhouse, lower level. If you don't know the code, please email board@kenmont.com to request it, but please review the setup/takedown video and written instructions to set up these nets. We'd like them to last!

Fall-Spring Court Access

For an additional fee, you and your household members can use the courts in the Fall-Spring when the pools, picnic and playground areas are closed. Learn more.

Want to Learn Pickleball?
If you want to set up a private lesson or private group lesson (for 4 or more people that would be about $25/person) with Coach Brad, please contact him directly. Email: balancedpickleball@gmail.com or text him at (301) 615-2332

TeamReach - NEW!

Join the Kenmont TeamReach pickleball group by downloading the app (links below) and then send an email to board@kenmont.com that includes your full name, email and phone number and your request to join the group.  In the past we used WhatsApp, but we moved to TeamReach in 2026 to ease the coordination and cut down on the spam that we'd started to get in WhatsApp. Join us today!

Online Court Reservations

Online reservations are available for the courts. Reserve your court today! MemberSplash, has been set up to allow you to reserve courts.

  • Doubles may reserve the courts for up to 2 hours, singles for 1 hour.
  • Reservations can be made no more than 14 days in advance.
  • Pickleball players only need to reserve an A or a B court to have an entire pickleball court. Tennis players must reserve both an A and B if they wish to have a full tennis court.

Etiquette of Court Reservations and Use

  • If you are reserving a single pickleball court, please check if someone has already reserved a single court for the time slot you want. If so, please reserve your spot on the same court, e.g. if Court 1A is reserved, please reserve Court 1B.
  • If you set up both courts in the shade on 1A and 2A, and tennis players come and would like to play tennis, please move the two pickleball games to a single tennis court, so tennis can be played.
  • If you haven't arrived within 15 minutes of your reservation time, your reservation is no longer valid. If others are playing on your court, you may not kick them off.

Lights

The lights have been configured to turn on and off automatically during the summer season. They should turn on 1.25 hours before sunset and turn off automatically at 10pm. During the fall-spring season, if you need to turn them on, see Using the Lights for instructions. They will turn off automatically at 10pm if you forget to turn them off.

Courts Need Cleaning?

During the summer season, ask a life guard who isn't on active duty to get the blower out and clean the courts for you. During the fall-spring season, the blower is stored in the locked tennis and pickleball closet for you to use as needed. If trees or vines need trimming, contact the board, see below.
